Wefindourselvesverypuzzledinapproachingthistrulygreatandnationalquestionthoughwehavetriedveryernestlytounderstandit,soastoshowhowwiselyandwonderfullyourdearteacherguidestheyouthfulmind,itbeingherwishthatourcompositionclassshalllongberememberedinRiverboroCentre。

Wewouldsayfirstofallthatpunishmentseemsmorebenefercentlyneededbyboysthangirls。Boys’sinsareveryviolent,likestealingfruit,profanelanguage,playingtruant,fighting,breakingwindows,andkillinginnocentlittlefliesandbugs。Ifthesewerenottakenoutofthemearlyinlifeitwouldbeimpossibleforthemtobecomelikeourmartyredpresident,AbrahamLincoln。

Althoughwehaveaskedeverybodyonourstreet,theythinkboys’
